From high-volume claims to multi-specialty RCM at scale.

McKesson is a Fortune-10 healthcare company and one of the largest companies in the United States.

Spark Eighteen originally built its Glide Health revenue-cycle platform, a high-performance system for large-scale claims processing, analysis, and end-to-end revenue workflows.

The platform is now part of McKesson’s healthcare technology portfolio.

The engagement has since expanded across McKesson’s ecosystem, including scaling the RCM platform to higher throughput, unifying claims, remittance, inventory, pricing, and rebate data into one insights view, expanding beyond oncology into new clinical specialties, and building AI-first prototypes with McKesson’s Ignite rapid-development team.

As claims volume grew beyond the original platform’s design, McKesson’s Glide Health RCM system needed to sustain significantly higher throughput without sacrificing latency or reliability.

Insights remained trapped across disconnected systems.

The platform was originally built for oncology, so expansion into new specialties required detailed analysis of specialty-specific claims patterns and billing rules.

At the same time, McKesson’s Ignite team needed customer-ready and compliant prototypes in days rather than months, without creating throwaway builds.

Spark Eighteen scaled the Glide Health RCM platform beyond its original limits, unified revenue-cycle insights across McKesson’s data ecosystem, and now delivers AI-first prototypes with McKesson’s Ignite team.

The Challenge

McKesson needed to scale claims throughput, connect fragmented revenue-cycle data, and expand Glide Health beyond a single clinical specialty while supporting rapid, production-ready AI prototyping.

The Solution

Spark Eighteen built Glide Health as a high-performance, microservices-based claims platform and then scaled it further.

We optimized code and queries and re-architected orchestration for parallel execution using Spark and Airflow.

The team unified McKesson’s inventory, pricing, and rebate data into one insights dashboard.

The platform was expanded beyond oncology into ophthalmology.

Spark Eighteen also works with McKesson’s Ignite team to deliver AI-first applications on Bolt, where Claude generates code and tests from specifications.

The Results

McKesson’s revenue-cycle platform now scales across specialties through one unified data view, surfacing revenue that was previously hidden across disconnected systems.

With the Ignite team, ideas become customer-ready, HIPAA-compliant applications in a fraction of the previous timeline and are validated before the heavy production build.
